jojoba oil for skin
Jojoba oil is very similar to sebum – the oil that humans excrete to lubricate their skin and hair. Jojoba oil can be used as sebum substitution for people with decreased sebum production. It can also be used to remove excess sebum and build up from the hair. It is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, non-toxic and comedogenic which makes it extremely beneficial for the hair, face and the entire body.

A. Benefits  Of Jojoba Oil For Hair:

Our hair is often subjected to abuse with regular styling and heating. Also while colouring, the hair strands are exposed to harsh chemicals which may damage the hair in the long run. Chemical laden shampoo, conditioner, styling gels and hair sprays also leave our hair dry, brittle and damaged. Even the simple act of combing and blow drying can also lead to hair breakage and damage.
To counter the damage caused by such hair products, you can indulge in deep conditioning of your hair in a natural and healthy way by using natural oils in your hair. Jojoba oil is highly effective in treating dry and damaged hair and several other hair problems like hair loss, dandruff and greasy hair. Jojoba oil is a natural balancer. It is good for all types but it especially good for hair that is dry and damaged, has split ends and is prone to tangling and breakage. The oil is non-greasy and is very similar to hair serum in consistency and keeps the hair tangle free. Jojoba oil keeps the hair moisturized and retains the length of the hair.

As a scalp cleanser, jojoba oil helps to clean the traces of clogged and crusted sebum, which in turn may help to reduce hair fall and breakage. Its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties help to keep the scalp clean and healthy. Jojoba oil works great as a serum and gives shine and a healthy appearance to the hair. It is a great boon for dry hair. You can apply a few drops of oil to seal the moisture. It helps to seal the natural moisture in the hair shaft and adds lustre and shine to the hair by minimizing the damage caused by pollutants and chemicals.

3. For hair growth:

Using jojoba oil for hair growth is an excellent way to provide that extra boost. As we all know our hair secretes sebum or oil to keep the hair moisturized.  Many a times, excess sebum is excreted by the gland which blocks the hair follicles. This leads to hair fall and hair breakage. Even the rate of hair growth is also adversely affected because of the clogged follicles.  Jojoba oil prevents and stops hair loss and thinning of hair caused by the clogged hair follicles. Jojoba oil dissolves and clears these blockages and promotes development of new hair cells which leads to hair growth. You can also use jojoba oil to give your hair a hot oil treatment, prior to shampooing, in order to stimulate hair growth. Using jojoba oil to massage the scalp can help to improve blood circulation which stimulates the hair follicles to grow rapidly.
